FLOOR PROTECTORS

All furniture must have floor protectors installed prior to setting on the floor.

Soft pads are recommended for great protection and easy installation. ( Bona® FloorGards™ or our “Floor Protector Kit”, available at The Wood Floor Store at Williams. Soon to be ONLINE)

Note: Remove metal, plastic, or nylon “gliders” from the legs and put soft floor
Protectors on the flat surface. Floor Protectors will need changed periodically. Check them at least once a year to make sure they are still performing well.
Rotating your chairs will help pads wear more evenly.

DUSTING

Mist Lustra Oil onto your Astro Mop, but do not saturate the mop head. Proceed to dust the floor. Shake out the mop head when finished. Re-mist before putting it away and you’re ready for next time. Mop heads are machine washable.

*If you have a lot of dirt or grit on the floor, you can use a soft broom or a vacuum
with a soft brush attachment, prior to dusting. (Note: Vacuums with hard wheels are not recommended.)

CLEANING

Bona® Hardwood Floor Care System is recommended.

Step #1: Dampen WoodFloorWipe® (terry cloth) with water, wring out thoroughly and place onto the mop base.

Step #2: Mist Swedish Formula® Floor Cleaner onto the floor and use mop, going with the grain whenever possible.

*Change WoodFloorWipe® (terry cloth) when necessary, or rinse, wring out, and continue with the same one. (Most people like to have several of these on hand.)

RECOATING

Avoid the more time-consuming process of having to sand down to the bare wood
and refinish, by simply applying a fresh coat of finish to your floors. Depending on
the amount of traffic and the quality of care, floors should be recoated approximately
every five years.

Recoating is normally a one or two day process that consists of the following steps:

Step #1: Clean thoroughly
Step #2: Lightly sand the top coat (for bonding purposes).
Step #3: Vacuum fine dust and tack
Step #4: Apply coat of finish

(This process has minimal dust.)

CAUTION!

Do not put tape directly onto a finished floor! When tape is pulled up, it could pull the finish with it.

Note: When covering a floor with paper, cardboard, etc., overlap the covering and tape it together, i.e. paper to paper, cardboard to cardboard, paper to cardboard.
